Oscar Aragon - Flamenco Show (Full Bio)

Oscar Aragon was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. He began his guitar training at the age of 13, learning Classical, Latin American and Flamenco guitar. Three years later, he met American composer Albert Washington, who further instructed him in Jazz. After a successful career as a young guitar soloist performing throughout Mexico, culminating in sold-out engagements at the world renowned Teatro Degollado in the heart of Guadalajara, Oscar moved to Spain where he studied with respected flamenco figures, Marote and Felipe Maya. Later he moved to San Diego, California, quickly earning a respectable reputation among local professional musicians. During this period, Oscar played at many clubs and venues, including performances at the Lyceum Theatre and special appearances with the Jazz Unlimited Dance Company. In 1995, he was chosen to play at many of the major events of the America's Cup in Coronado, California. Shortly afterwards, he returned to Mexico to write new music, and spent the majority of the next five years recording for various artists. Oscar has now returned to San Diego where he's become a favorite in the corporate event market. He released his first solo CD in October of 2004.
